Three (3) Limited Term Faculty (LTF) Positions in Nursing

Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing (DCSN) in the Faculty of Community Services (FCS) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) invites applications for three (3) two-year Limited Term Faculty (LTF) positions, effective July 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approvals.
The successful candidates will engage in a combination of teaching and service duties while co-creating and maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities. The successful candidates will contribute to our undergraduate (BScN Collaborative, Nursing Advanced Entry, and Post-Diploma) and graduate (MN, MN-PHCNP) programs through teaching and mentorship of students. Applicants must be available to engage in in-person teaching and service between the hours of 0800-1800 Monday to Friday.
All applicants must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and must hold a Masters degree. Preference will be given to those with a PhD. At least one graduate degree held must be in Nursing. Experience as a primary health care nurse practitioner (PHCNP) or experience in the areas of pathophysiology and/or mental health are considered an asset.

In addition, applicants shall present evidence of:
- a demonstrated ability in teaching, and a strong capacity to teach courses across both baccalaureate and graduate programs that will contribute to the ongoing success of the DCSN;
- the capacity to excel in the scholarship of teaching, and the scholarship of leadership;
- demonstrated engagement in professional collaboration and service;
- the capacity for teaching excellence as demonstrated in a teaching dossier that outlines personal teaching philosophy and teaching accomplishments, including experience with course/curriculum review/development, pedagogical practice, sample syllabi, any in-person, virtual, lab-based or community-based teaching experience and teaching evaluations;
- strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- an ability to practice as a RN or RN(EC) free of restrictions and proof of membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario [General Class or Extended Class];
- an ability and willingness to proactively engage in dismantling anti-Indigenous and anti-Black racism and all other oppressive practices that lead to social and health inequities;
- commitment to our values of equity, diversity, and Inclusion as it pertains to service, teaching, scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for diverse student populations; and
- an ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the DCSN and the University through collegial service.
Note: Limited Term Faculty appointments at Toronto Metropolitan University may not exceed a combined total of four years. Applicants with prior Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) LTF appointments need to consider this limitation, as it may render them ineligible to apply.
This position falls under the jurisdiction of the Toronto Metropolitan Faculty Association (TFA) [www.tfanet.ca]. Salary will commensurate with qualifications.
Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing (DCSN)
The fully accredited DCSN offers four dynamic programs: the Collaborative Nursing Degree Program, offered in partnership with Centennial and George Brown Colleges; the Post Diploma Nursing Degree Program; and a Master of Nursing Program that also includes the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program. The DSCN has a diverse student body of approximately 2800 full time and part time students, including those enrolled in outreach and continuing education partnership programs. There are approximately 250 full time and part time graduate students enrolled in the course-based, thesis, and nurse practitioner streams. The DCSN is also home to the PhD in Urban Health - an interdisciplinary program that is administered by and housed in the DCSN. Faculty and student participation is valued and encouraged within and between nursing programs. We take pride in our innovative and responsive approach to educating nurses.
